In 2011, HBHL teamed up with Dr. Junger’s team to create the Recharge. It’s a 21-day based detox program built on whole foods with no added cost of supplements, using the basic rules of Dr Junger’s clean program. His book is a great starting resource as it offers insights into how/why the body needs a routine cleanse. We like to call it a reset – Recharge. We recommend reading his book and checking out his webstie. You’ll notice Dr Junger CLEAN “kits” include supplements. You do not need to buy the kits if you don’t want to. The HBHL recipes and very short list of supplements you can buy at the store, will give you everything you need to do the HBHL Recharge.
We will begin our annual HBHL RECHARGE on 19 Feb 2017, with the elimination diet starting the week prior (12 Feb). For those of you who haven’t read the book- I suggest checking it out. Most libraries carry this book but you can order your own copy on Amazon if you like to tab pages. Dr. Junger and his staff worked with HBHL several years ago to develop a cleanse program for military families – on a budget. We crafted three meal plans in our HBHL Quick Guides (Regular, Busy Body and Vegan) with recipes from HBHL’s second Cookbook edition. The HBHL RECHARGE is based on whole foods and requires no additional (costly) supplements.
The purpose of the RECHARGE is to clean out the toxins so that your body can work efficiently- like it’s meant to operate! You might be thinking– but I don’t have any issues and I don’t get sick after eating anything. Well, there are differences between having a food allergy and having a food intolerance. A food intolerance may cause you to feel sick immediately- bloating, upset stomach, diarrhea, etc. A food allergy may present itself in a different way – allergies, autoimmune disorders, headaches, migraines, and skin conditions. The RECHARGE will help you find out what is bothering you, so that you can avoid those foods, helping your body to operate efficiently. – Visit HBHL’s website to purchase the Recharge Cookbook and Quick Guide. The Cookbook is $18, Quick Guides are $5 and Cookbook Quick Guide Combo/$20 each. We have three options for quick guides: Vegan, Busy Body and Regular. The Vegan is for our greenies and the regular Quick Guide is for couples/families. These should be self-explanatory with the exception of the Busy Body. We realized most of us are SUPER busy during week and really need to maximize our time in the kitchen. This Quick Guide allows you to cook a meal with leftover food stuff that will work into another meal within the Quick Guide for the next day. This is also optimal for those who are Recharging SOLO.
